Telling Your Christian Story
We all have a story of how we learned about Jesus Christ, a story that names people who influenced us in spiritual matters, a story that describes life episodes that were critical in our formation as a believer, and a story that describes how God has equipped us to be a witness. We encourage everyone to give thought and preparation to your story. You never know when you will have an opportunity to tell your
Christian Story and help someone else along the Way.
Your
Christian Story is not the same as your life story (where you were born, where you went to school, where you work, and how you handled good times or hard times). No, your
Christian Story is the narrative of your life in Christ. It answers some of these questions:
- how did you learn about Jesus? who taught you?
- when and where were you saved, baptized, or made other strategic decisions?
- what books, movies, sermons, songs, or testimonies influenced you in your journey with Jesus?
- have there been specific people that have had significant impact on you during your Christian journey?
- are there portions of scripture that have been important to you in this process?
- have there been times of doubt, failure, or indifference during your journey?
- have there been occasions of renewal, rededication, and redirection?
- can you describe a recent event or experience that drew you close to Jesus Christ?
- is there something you have learned that you think will be of help to others?
- what word of praise or thanksgiving sums up the spirit of your testimony?
FLOURISH is always looking for people to tell a Christian Story. If you are prepared to tell yours, speak to Director Francisco and work with him toward telling your story to our beloved community. We allow 15-20 minutes for telling this kind of story. God bless you.
