Each Sunday afternoon, volunteers from Providence and other local churches host a hot meal for anyone who needs something to eat. This happens in Providence House, next door to the sanctuary building. People begin gathering as early as 2 pm, some awaiting the meal and others preparing the meal.

Food was donated, primarily by Fresh Market in Hendersonville, but after Helene other food is purchased using money donated for that cause. The Food Connection delivery truck (shown below) has made contributions of prepared food donated by various organizations.

The volunteers also distribute toilet packets and some clothing items (such as socks). After the meal, a store is opened, and the remaining food is made available to those present and wishing to take food home.

This food ministry has been going on for more than 13 years and constitutes a major part of the ministry at Providence House.

The Worship Meal leadership is always looking for volunteers. Use the website response form below to register your interest. Someone will contact you.
